Global Power

The Magna Carta had great power, and changed the way the people lived. it gave them more rights, and more protection from  imprisonment, legal actions, and arbitrary arrest. The charter also gave the church the right to appoint their own bishops, without the king interfering(Cavendish, pg 47). Lastly it gave the king less power. For instance the king could no longer seize land or property from his subjects(Cavendish, pg 47), and he can't raise taxes whenever he wants to.
